Accents and stress apostrophes are ignored in matching. Reverse matches show where your word occurs in a definition or example; they do not establish a one-to-one translation.
Six sources, separate voices
Most text and entry boundaries are unreviewed OCR. Selected short excerpts were checked against the scans by the assistant and are labeled individually. A missing search result does not establish that a word is absent from a dictionary. The PDFs remain the source of record.
Callet’s ten Bulletin installments (1902–1904) cover A–ARINA, with French definitions. The final page explains that he died before finishing the dictionary. Abinal–Malzac (1888) has Malagasy headwords and French definitions. Malzac’s 1893 and 1926 entries have French headwords and Malagasy translations/examples. Richardson has Malagasy headwords and English definitions. The Freeman–Johns volume contains English–Malagasy (Freeman, Part I) and Malagasy–English (Johns, Part II). No English rendering of French text is silently added.
To open PDF pages locally, extract Madagascar_Dictionary_Sources.zip into the same parent folder as the KG package. It adds the original four PDFs. Extract Madagascar_Abinal_Malzac_1888_Source.zip there too for the new 1888 volume. Callet’s extracted PDF is included in the main KG package. All six PDFs belong under madagascar-kg-pilot/dictionaries/scans/. Search itself works offline without the PDFs.
